I’m Kelly B.,a 29 year old stay at home mom of 4 kids ranging in age from 10 years to 13 months. I married my husband Darin B. in September of 2012, and we live in Greensboro, N.C.

I spend massive amounts of time analyzing trivial subject matter. For example, Why do people use the phrase “Rome wasn’t built in a day”? What city WAS built in a day, and what makes Rome so special? Who is General Tao and why do we eat his chicken? and one of my all time favorite’s is why hasn’t anyone invented carpet with a vacuum line print so it always looks like you just vacuumed? I mean COME ON people, that’s a million dollar idea right there.

I have a tendency to “think out loud” and then proceed to slap my hand over my mouth as if that’s going make the words revert to thoughts instead of something incredibly stupid or inappropriate I’ve just said out loud. This happens on a regular basis.

I like to incorporate song lyrics into my everyday conversations. I think everyone should try this because it makes simple conversations so much more interesting.

I’ve been doing this whole “mommy” thing since I was 19,when I  unintentionally and quite awkwardly stumbled into the position. Somedays I think I’m not suited to even care for cats (which I don’t care for, in any sense of the word) let alone children but somehow it’s all worked out…..so far.

These are my people:

LB (10)- My first born. He introduced me to motherhood and for that I will be eternally grateful. He’s a lover of all things orange, a self proclaimed “redneck” and aspires to be a farmer. I always tell people that he’s an old soul because he’s always connected more with adults than he has with kids his own age. He’s got the biggest heart, and he really is an amazing little man.
RB (6)-My best buddy, this child cracks me up on a daily basis. He loves to tell me he loves me BUT not as much as he loves Jesus. His favorite past times are watching toy reviews on youtube, and finding reasons why he can’t do his chores. This child is destined to become the next great politician, or one hell of a used car salesman. He can find a way to debate just about anything.
EB (3)-Miss. Priss. While she’s not my natural child (she’s my step- daughter) I still think of her as mine. Her favorite past-time is finding any and every way possible to annoy RB (they’re best frienemies).

Baby DB (13 months)- My baby. Born 2 month premature, spending a little over two months in the hospital, and beile.ng diagnosed with cerebral palsy, this child is a fighter, to say the least. He’s my little blonde haired, blue eyed miracle.

Oh yes, I guess I can’t forget DB, my husband/fifth child (just kidding…..sorta). The man drives me absolutely crazy at times but, I couldn’t imagine stumbling through parenthood with anyone else by my side.

So, there ya have it, that’s us in a nutshell. We’re the B’s, and I’m Kelly, their Queen. Thanks for stopping by.
